Concrete is measured
and sold by the cubic yard (called simply a yard). A
yard is a volume that is 3 x 3 x3 = 27 cubic feet. To
estimate the amount of concrete needed, calulate the
cubic footage of the area to be filled. (Width in ft.)
x (length in ft.) x (thickness in ft.) = cubic feet.
Divide by 27 to obtain cubic yards. For footing widths
in inches use decimal equivalents:
